Leyden is a small, rural town north of Greenfield, with about 700 residents living on farms, in old homesteads, and in modest homes along winding country roads. It's close to Greenfield by the map but feels much more remote.

The roads climb steadily from the valley, and the elevation means more frozen pipe risk and well water challenges than the towns below. Many homes are older with plumbing that hasn't been replaced or properly maintained in years.
